About the position

The IT Statewide Associate Analyst position is an entry-level role within the Applications and Data Management Section of the Louisiana Division of Administration's Office of Technology Services. The role focuses on assisting in the analysis of information technology initiatives, business processes, and systems, while providing technical support for applications and data analytics at a statewide level. The position aims to enhance IT functions within the Executive Branch Departments by promoting effective decision-making and problem-solving through data analytics services.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the analysis of information technology initiatives and business processes.
  • Provide technical support for applications and data analytics at a statewide level.
  • Evaluate requests for changes to determine specific tasks and effects on existing programs and systems.
  • Coordinate group meetings and cross-agency user influence/steering groups.
  • Perform as a data analyst to assist with the adoption of Data Analytic services across all OTS supported departments and agencies.
  • Produce specialized Statewide cross-system metrics from statewide systems.
  • Provide IT Performance Indicators on statewide systems as required.
  • Log problems and resolutions into a tracking system and provide help desk support.
  • Assist in the continuous life cycle of documentation and maintenance of the Data Analytics team.
  • Maintain proficiency in IT tool sets and research potential new tools.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree in a relevant field.
  • An associate's degree in information technology may substitute for the baccalaureate degree.
  • Two years of experience or training in information technology may substitute for the baccalaureate degree.
  • Experience or training in information technology can be combined with college credit to substitute for the required baccalaureate degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data analytics solutions such as Tableau.
  • Familiarity with the Division of Administration (DOA) Office of Technology Services (OTS).
  • Certifications in relevant areas.
