The IT Support Analyst role at Dexian is a critical position that involves providing comprehensive IT support to both clients and internal users. The analyst will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving problems related to MS Windows-based networked PCs, ensuring that users have the necessary support to maintain productivity. In addition to troubleshooting, the IT Support Analyst will perform hardware installations and configurations for both PC and Unix systems. This includes managing administrative tasks such as physical inventory, online monitoring, and creating detailed reports to track system performance and issues. The role also involves creating and maintaining MS Windows domain accounts, which is essential for user access and security management. The analyst will troubleshoot operating systems and network issues on desktop PCs and servers, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. Furthermore, the analyst will perform basic UNIX functions, including managing evening backup tape processes, which are crucial for data integrity and recovery. The maintenance of web pages using HTML editors is also part of the responsibilities, allowing for updates and changes to internal resources. Overall, the IT Support Analyst will play a vital role in ensuring that both client-facing and internal systems operate smoothly, contributing to the overall success of Dexian's IT operations.

Responsibilities

  • Performs IT support activities related to client interfacing and internal applications, systems and hardware support, providing up to Tier II support.
  • Provides up to Tier 2 level troubleshooting of hardware/software on MS Windows based networked PCs.
  • Performs hardware installs and configurations of PC and/or Unix systems.
  • Manages numerous administrative tasks, including but not limited to: physical inventory, online monitoring and creating reports.
  • Creates and maintains MS Windows domain accounts.
  • Troubleshoots operating systems and network issues on desktop PCs and servers.
  • Performs basic UNIX functions including but not limited to evening backup tape processes.
  • Maintains web pages using HTML editor.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience in IT support, particularly with Tier II support for hardware and software issues.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting MS Windows-based networked PCs.
  • Experience with hardware installations and configurations for PC and Unix systems.
  • Strong administrative skills, including inventory management and report creation.
  • Knowledge of MS Windows domain account management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot operating systems and network issues on desktop PCs and servers.
  • Basic knowledge of UNIX functions and processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with HTML for web page maintenance.
