About the position

The IT Support Representative I plays a crucial role in providing technical support and assistance to customers and employees at K&M Tire. This position is responsible for the setup and maintenance of computers, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring effective communication with users to resolve their technical problems. The role requires a service-oriented attitude and the ability to work independently while adhering to company policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support phones, workstations, laptops, and applications for the entire company.
• Thoroughly and efficiently answer support calls.
• Provide technical assistance and education to customers via telephone, remote access applications, and live chat on computer and peripheral related issues.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and operating system problems/failures via phone or live chat.
• Report recurring issues to the Director of Support Services for necessary infrastructure changes.
• Perform daily, monthly, and yearly backups.
• Follow directions of the company and management while adhering to company policies and the employee handbook.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 6 months of PC experience or an Associate's degree in a computer-related field.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with information and conversations.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.
• Service-oriented with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to other locations within the company.
• Willingness to work after normal business hours or weekends.
