About the position

The IT Support Specialist position at Fort Liberty involves providing essential tier 1 helpdesk support for both hardware and software issues. The role requires the specialist to deliver on-site hardware maintenance services on Government-Owned equipment, working closely with Customer Support Service Specialists. The primary responsibilities include troubleshooting common issues such as account lockouts, system reimages, and connectivity problems with laptops. This position is critical in ensuring that all IT systems function smoothly and efficiently, thereby supporting the operational needs of the organization. The specialist will be expected to perform daily tasks that include responding to helpdesk tickets, diagnosing hardware and software problems, and implementing solutions in a timely manner. The role demands a proactive approach to IT support, ensuring that all equipment is maintained and operational. Additionally, the specialist must stay updated with the latest technologies and certifications, particularly in relation to Microsoft products and security protocols, to provide the best possible support to users. This position is integral to the IT department, requiring a strong commitment to customer service and technical proficiency. The IT Support Specialist will work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with other IT professionals to enhance service delivery and improve user satisfaction. The role also involves adhering to the standards set forth by the Department of Defense, particularly the requirements for an IAT Level II position as defined in DOD 8570-01-M.

Responsibilities

  • Provide standard tier 1 helpdesk support for hardware and software issues.
  • Perform on-site hardware maintenance services on Government-Owned equipment.
  • Troubleshoot account lockouts, system reimages, and connectivity issues with laptops.
  • Respond to helpdesk tickets and diagnose hardware and software problems.
  • Implement solutions in a timely manner to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Stay updated with the latest technologies and certifications, particularly Microsoft products and security protocols.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in troubleshooting and repairing hardware and software issues.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification is required.
  • Must have at least 1 year of experience after the introduction of a new or updated Microsoft certification.
  • Meet the requirements for an IAT Level II position as defined in DOD 8570-01-M.
  • Ability to go onsite 5 times a week.
