About the position

Caesars Entertainment is seeking an IT Support Specialist I to join the Laughlin IT Property Operations team. This role is crucial in providing technical support for software, hardware, and network issues to users within the organization. The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for diagnosing problems and guiding users through step-by-step solutions in a call center environment. The position requires clear communication of technical solutions in a user-friendly and professional manner, ensuring that all users receive the assistance they need effectively. In addition to troubleshooting, the IT Support Specialist will provide one-on-one training to end users on basic workstation and peripheral device usage. The role also involves assisting Network Technicians with various tasks, troubleshooting issues related to network errors, PC hardware, ISeries, email, internet, VPN, and local area network access. Maintaining an inventory database for hardware and software, producing output reports for user departments, and keeping job logs are also key responsibilities of this position. The IT Support Specialist will follow and enforce departmental standards, security protocols, and backup and recovery procedures. They will also be responsible for reporting any hardware and software malfunctions to the appropriate vendor in a timely manner. The position emphasizes providing Family Style Service at all times, ensuring that user satisfaction is a top priority. Other duties may be assigned as needed, making this a dynamic role within the IT department.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical software, hardware, and network problem resolution to all users.
  • Perform question/problem diagnosis and guide users through step-by-step solutions in a call center environment.
  • Clearly communicate technical solutions in a user-friendly, professional manner.
  • Provide one-on-one end user training on basic workstation and peripheral device usage.
  • Assist Network Technicians with troubleshooting network errors, PC hardware, ISeries, email, internet, VPN, and local area network access.
  • Conduct hardware and software inventory database maintenance and reporting.
  • Operate the computer system in response to the computer time usage schedule.
  • Produce output reports for user departments.
  • Maintain job logs and follow departmental standards, security protocols, and backup/recovery procedures.
  • Report all hardware and software malfunctions to the proper vendor in a timely manner.
  • Provide Family Style Service at all times.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 1 year of computer operations experience in an iSeries and/or Windows server environment.
  • Knowledge of basic system commands and error message recognition.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to perform customer service standards of the department.
  • Knowledgeable of the Casino Control Act and attendant regulations, as well as company internal controls, policies, and procedures.
