About the position

Innova Solutions is seeking an IT Desktop Support Specialist I to join our team in Denver, Colorado. This position is primarily focused on providing onsite desktop support in Greenwood Village, with occasional field support required in the downtown Denver area. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, a strong background in desktop support, and experience in system administration. This role is crucial for interfacing with end users to troubleshoot and repair various IT issues, ensuring that systems are backed up, maintained, and secure. The IT Desktop Support Specialist will be responsible for a variety of tasks including surveillance, management, and event notification of the network infrastructure. The individual will coordinate and escalate network issues to the appropriate engineering team or carrier as necessary. A significant part of the role involves interfacing with end users to independently resolve problems concerning system functions, troubleshooting PC hardware and software issues, and providing regular updates on ongoing trouble tickets. Additionally, the position includes administration of Active Directory, Backup/Recovery Services, and Anti-Virus environments, as well as participation in project teams to implement or troubleshoot defined technical activities. The candidate will also be expected to establish and build strong client relationships while maintaining a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite desktop support and troubleshooting for end users.
  • Manage and monitor network infrastructure, including event notifications.
  • Coordinate and escalate network issues to the appropriate engineering team or carrier.
  • Independently resolve problems concerning system functions for end users.
  • Troubleshoot and solve issues related to PC hardware and software.
  • Regularly update customers on ongoing trouble tickets and provide full reports of issues.
  • Administer Active Directory, Backup/Recovery Services, and Anti-Virus environments.
  • Interface with Server and Network engineering teams for support and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in project teams to implement or troubleshoot defined technical activities.
  • Establish and build strong client relationships.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical support experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong background in Windows Operating systems and Office suite.
  • Experience with ticket and management systems.
  • Computer imaging and configuration skills.
  • Understanding of backup technologies.
  • Strong experience in removing computer viruses.
  • Experience with LAN/WAN technologies and topologies.
  • Understanding of wireless technologies and mobile devices.
  • Knowledge of SPAM-filtering and VPN fundamentals.
  • Organizational skills to balance and prioritize work effectively.
  • Current Microsoft certification is a plus.
  • Current A+ / Network+ certification is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an IT-related field is a plus.
  • Experience with Citrix technologies is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud servers or hosted systems is a plus.
