About the position

The IT Support Specialist I position at MSTS involves providing essential desktop and service desk support to end-users. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of hardware and software systems within the organization, contributing to the overall mission of maintaining national security through effective technology support.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-user desktop and service desk support.
• Install, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment hardware and peripherals, including printers, scanners, and multifunction devices.
• Support software applications, including commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and in-house applications.
• Specialty support for Active Directory (AD), AD Group Policy Objects, Windows 7/10, Mac Operating Systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Perform advanced support and setup of Microsoft Outlook.
• Complete other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Associates degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proficient in Windows Operating Systems and Active Directory.
• Experience with software applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and MS Outlook.
• Experience installing hardware and software for personal computing needs.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to interface professionally with all levels of personnel.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and maintain organization in a fast-paced environment.
