About the position

The IT Support Specialist I position at the Nevada National Security Site involves providing essential desktop and service desk support to end-users. This role is crucial for maintaining the functionality of hardware and software systems within the organization, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for end-user desktop and service desk support.
• Installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing of equipment hardware and peripherals, including printers, scanners, and multifunction devices.
• Support for software applications, including commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and in-house applications.
• Specialty support for Active Directory (AD), AD Group Policy Objects, Windows 7/10, Mac Operating Systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Advanced support and setup of Microsoft Outlook.
• Perform other duties assigned by Management.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of desktop support and service desk operations.
• Experience with hardware installation and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems.
• Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy Objects.
• Knowledge of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) applications.
