About the position

MSTS is seeking an IT Support Specialist I to join our Service Desk team. This position is crucial for providing end-user desktop and service desk support to ensure that all hardware and software systems are functioning optimally. The IT Support Specialist I will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include the installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing of hardware equipment and peripherals. This includes printers, scanners, multifunction devices, and both commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and in-house applications used throughout the Mission Support and Test Services organization. In addition to general support, the role may require specialty support for Active Directory (AD), including AD Group Policy Objects, as well as support for various operating systems such as Windows 7/10 and Mac Operating Systems. The IT Support Specialist I will also provide advanced support and setup for Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Outlook. This position is essential for maintaining the efficiency of IT operations and ensuring that all users have the necessary support to perform their tasks effectively. The specialist will also be expected to perform other duties as assigned by management, contributing to the overall success of the IT department.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for end-user desktop and service desk support.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of desktop support and service desk operations.
  • Experience with hardware installation and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory and Group Policy Objects.
  • Proficiency in Windows 7/10 and Mac Operating Systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Outlook.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a similar IT support role.
  • Certifications related to IT support or desktop management.
