The IT Support Specialist's role is crucial in ensuring that computer operations run smoothly, enabling end-users to accomplish their organizational tasks effectively. This position involves receiving help requests from end-users and providing problem resolution, which may require hands-on support at the desktop level. The IT Support Specialist will report directly to the Information Systems Manager and will be responsible for prioritizing incoming work orders, assessing situations for appropriate responses, and seeking clarification when necessary. In this role, you will apply IT principles, methods, and practices in the customer service area to resolve various issues and requests. A key aspect of the job is to identify and learn the appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization. You will perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, which includes installing and upgrading software, implementing file backups, and configuring systems to meet user needs. Fielding incoming requests from end-users will be a significant part of your daily tasks, which will be received via telephone and work orders. You will document all important end-user identification information, including their name, department, contact information, and the nature of their problem or request. Troubleshooting will primarily focus on Windows and MAC Operating Systems, as well as Microsoft 0365 applications. You will also be responsible for providing resolutions to problems or escalating issues to the appropriate technical personnel when necessary. Additionally, you may be assigned other tasks and projects as needed, contributing to the overall efficiency of the IT department.
