About the position
The Town of Collierville is seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our Information Technology team. This position is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our technical infrastructure and providing support to our users. The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for performing technical work that includes installing, diagnosing, testing, evaluating, maintaining, and repairing desktop computers and peripheral devices. Additionally, the role involves supporting voiceover IP systems and mobile phones, as well as providing technical assistance for users experiencing issues with operating systems, application software, and network interruptions. The specialist will utilize various software tools, including diagnostic utilities and debugging tools, to resolve technical problems efficiently. In this role, the IT Support Specialist will also be expected to travel lightly to various departments around the Town of Collierville to provide on-site support as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer systems management and a passion for helping others navigate technical challenges. Responsibilities
- Install, diagnose, test, evaluate, maintain, and repair desktop computers and peripheral devices.
- Provide technical support for users in operating systems and application software.
- Assist users with network interruptions and software tools, including diagnostic utilities and debugging tools.
- Perform light travel to various departments around the Town of Collierville for on-site support.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Two (2) years of previous experience and/or training in computer systems management.
- Valid Driver's License.
