About the position

We are seeking an IT Support Specialist to join a leading Law Firm in Costa Mesa, CA. This position is a 3-month contract to hire, requiring 100% on-site presence. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in Law Firm IT Support, demonstrating a strong understanding of the unique technological needs within a legal environment. The role involves supporting various computer hardware and software systems, ensuring that all technology functions smoothly to support the firm's operations. The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for system setups, breakdowns, and office moves, as well as performing troubleshooting and support for level 1 and 2 issues. This includes managing software updates, patches, and deployments, as well as overseeing Active Directory user and Exchange accounts. The specialist will also assist in managing backups and provide support for conference room and war room technology, including audio/visual systems for reception areas and courtrooms. In addition to these responsibilities, the IT Support Specialist will assist firm guests and clients with WiFi and printing issues, support Zoom and other web-based video technologies, and create and deploy images on desktops and laptops. The role also involves setting up local and networked printers and copiers, supporting the on-prem VOIP phone system, and providing assistance for iOS and Android mobile devices. The specialist will proactively interact and collaborate with the CTO and will be expected to engage directly with IT vendors, MSPs, and VARs for troubleshooting or project needs. The position may require overtime, after-hours work, and weekend availability when necessary, as well as occasional travel to the Los Angeles office for support and location-specific projects. The IT Support Specialist will also perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the firm's IT operations.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting computer hardware and software systems
  • System setups, breakdowns, and office moves
  • Performing troubleshooting and support for level 1 and 2 issues
  • Assisting with managing software updates/patches/deployment

  • Proactively interacting and collaborating with CTO
  • Interacting directly with IT vendors, MSPs and VARs for troubleshooting or projects
  • Assisting with technology and presentations in trial
  • Available to work overtime, afterhours and on weekends when necessary
  • Occasional travel to Los Angeles office for support and LA location-specific projects
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of general IT support experience in a corporate environment
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot, isolate, remediate and document hardware and software issues
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high pressure environment
  • Experience providing support in a Windows 10 environment
  • Extensive experience supporting Microsoft Office 365 applications
  • Experience supporting remote access technology, like Terminal Server, VPN, and/or Citrix
  • Experience with Windows Administrative Tools - ADUC, DNS, GPO, etc.
  • Basic familiarity managing switches, routers, and firewalls
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and lift workstations, printers, servers, etc.

  • SIEM and/or XDR experience
