About the position

The IT Support Specialist at Poole and Kent Corporation plays a crucial role in supporting the IT Manager and ensuring the smooth operation of IT functions within the organization. This position is essential for maintaining the day-to-day IT operations, which include providing technical support for various hardware and software systems, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with corporate standard operating procedures (SOPs). The specialist will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving issues related to computers, printers, mobile devices, and software applications. Additionally, the role involves monitoring antivirus and patch management for both computer and server operating systems, as well as providing basic support for Active Directory Users & Computers. The IT Support Specialist will also be tasked with managing mobile devices, including phones and tablets, and will need to travel to local sites occasionally, necessitating a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. The position requires a high level of customer service, as the specialist will interact with end users to provide help desk support and ensure their IT needs are met efficiently. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of team members and stakeholders. In addition to technical skills, the role demands a self-motivated individual who can work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively. The IT Support Specialist will also be expected to build positive working relationships with employees at various levels, management, suppliers, and customers, contributing to a collaborative and productive workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day IT support as needed.
  • Manage computer, software, printer, and mobile device inventory, setup, and maintenance.
  • Monitor antivirus and patch management for computer and server operating systems.
  • Provide basic Active Directory Users & Computers support.
  • Deliver end user help desk support.
  • Ensure compliance with Corporate SOPs.
  • Manage mobile phones and tablets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the IT Manager.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a related area of study.
  • High School Diploma or equivalency required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows 10 & 11 Operating Systems support.
  • Experience with Windows Server 2016 & 2019 Operating Systems support.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Suite and basic Microsoft Active Directory support.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and strong communication abilities.
  • Experience in repairing, diagnosing, and upgrading PC hardware and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Self-motivated with a high attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • CompTIA or Microsoft Certifications or comparable experience.
  • Experience with Carbon Black or similar endpoint security technology.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Intune, SCCM, and Autopilot or similar endpoint management technology.
