About the position

The IT Support Specialist at Poole and Kent Corporation plays a crucial role in supporting the IT Manager and ensuring the smooth operation of IT functions within the organization. This position is essential for maintaining the day-to-day IT operations, which include providing technical support for various hardware and software systems, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with corporate standard operating procedures (SOPs). The specialist will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving issues related to computers, printers, and mobile devices, as well as managing antivirus and patch updates for both computer and server operating systems. Additionally, the role involves providing end-user help desk support and managing mobile devices, which requires a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional travel to local sites. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to customer service and demonstrate exceptional organizational skills. They will be expected to have expertise in computer software and hardware maintenance, along with experience in diagnosing and repairing PC hardware and performing basic network troubleshooting. The role requires a self-motivated individual with a keen attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of team members. The IT Support Specialist will also be responsible for ensuring that all IT-related tasks are completed efficiently and in alignment with the company's objectives and values.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day IT support as needed.
  • Manage computer, software, printer, and mobile device inventory, setup, and maintenance.
  • Oversee antivirus and patch management and monitoring for computer and server operating systems.
  • Provide basic Active Directory Users & Computers support.
  • Deliver end-user help desk support.
  • Ensure compliance with Corporate SOPs.
  • Manage mobile phones and tablets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the IT Manager.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a related field.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows 10 & 11 Operating Systems Support.
  • Experience with Windows Server 2016 & 2019 Operating Systems Support.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Suite.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Integrity, honesty, professionalism, and commitment to company values.
  • Strong attention to detail and self-motivation.

Nice-to-haves

  • CompTIA or Microsoft Certifications or comparable experience.
  • Experience with Carbon Black or similar endpoint security technology.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Intune, SCCM, and Autopilot or similar endpoint management technology.
