About the position
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a VoIP Specialist to support our customer, the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). This position is located on-site at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, and requires the candidate to have a Secret Clearance. The VoIP Specialist will play a crucial role in the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of all telephone systems and services. The successful candidate will be expected to work in a 24/7 shift work environment, ensuring that all VoIP systems are operational and efficient at all times. In this role, the VoIP Specialist will analyze network and telecommunications alarms to identify potential issues and propose solutions. The responsibilities also include maintaining, troubleshooting, documenting, and repairing network devices, which encompass phone systems, call managers, video teleconferencing (VTC) systems, network infrastructure, and trunk circuits. The specialist will be tasked with identifying, recommending, and implementing straightforward solutions to ensure the smooth operation of the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) as capacity needs evolve. The VoIP Specialist will be a key player in ensuring that communication systems are reliable and effective, contributing to the overall mission of DISA. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on advanced telecommunications technology.
Responsibilities
- Analyze network and telecommunications alarms and identify potential issues/solutions.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, document and repair network devices including phone systems, call managers, VTC's, network infrastructure, and trunk circuits.
- Identify, recommend, and implement simple solutions for smooth continuing operation of the DISN network as capacity needs change.
Requirements
- Active Secret Clearance.
- Proficiency in two or more of the following: TDM telephone switches, VoIP, Call Manager, VTC systems.
- Must hold Current DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE, or equivalent) prior to start date.
