About the position

The IT Support Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining and supporting the IT infrastructure of the company. This position is responsible for the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of hardware and software systems, ensuring that all technology-related issues are resolved efficiently. The specialist will work closely with both staff and clients to provide technical support, troubleshoot problems, and implement new technologies that enhance operational efficiency. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential issues before they escalate, thereby minimizing downtime and ensuring a smooth workflow within the organization. In addition to technical support, the IT Support Specialist will be tasked with establishing user profiles, managing access passes, and assisting with password-related issues, particularly within the ERP system. Regular maintenance of existing hardware and systems is essential, as is the organization of documentation related to warranties and software licensing. The specialist will also assist management in creating training materials to educate staff on troubleshooting techniques and effective use of technology. The position demands a strong understanding of various IT systems, including CCTV, plotters, and kiosks, as well as a commitment to staying updated on new applications and operating systems that could benefit the business. The IT Support Specialist will also be responsible for maintaining inventory and ordering new hardware parts as necessary, ensuring that the company is equipped with the latest technology to support its operations.

Responsibilities

  • Installs and configures new technology to be used by the company, such as hardware, operative systems, and programs or applications
  • Installs, configures and supports additional technologies, such as CCTV, Plotters, Kiosk & etc.
  • Provides regular maintenance to existing hardware and computer systems and maintaining logs to reduce and/or eliminate downtimes
  • Establishes profiles, emails, and access passes for new employees and assisting in all password-related issues (Including ERP System)
  • Provides assistance to company staff or clients with technology-related issues to resolutions
  • Proactively troubleshoots systems and applications to reduce and/or eliminate downtimes
  • Organizes and files documentation pertaining to warranties and instructional guides for computer hardware and software (Including Licensing)
  • Assists management in creating training materials pertaining to computer troubleshooting and usage
  • Maintains inventory and orders new hardware parts as necessary
  • Implements and assists on the roll out of new applications or operating systems
  • Continuing stays knowledgeable and understands new applications and operating systems on how they might positively impact the business

Requirements

  • Industry-specific certification in relevant computer languages or software may be required
  • 1-3 years of proven experience supporting organizations with 100+ corporate users
  • Ability to support, troubleshoot, and install IT software, business applications, and hardware
  • Working knowledge of IT Ticketing Systems and IT Asset Management, including responding, prioritizing, escalating, and remediating help desk ticket inquiries
  • Prior experience and knowledge supporting a Windows environment, including Windows 10, Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365, and MS Office Suite
  • Understanding of basic networking protocols and familiarity with Cisco networking technologies
  • Time-management skills and the ability to establish reasonable and attainable deadlines for resolution
  • Comfortable working in and assisting others through company help desk software, in addition to other remote access desktop programs
  • Ability to prioritize and manage several milestones and projects efficiently
  • Professional written and interpersonal skills are essential when communicating with customers and clients
  • Experience installing and configuring computer systems and applications for a large company
