About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and professional IT Support Specialist to join our team at our company headquarters reporting to the IT Services Manager. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the integrity of our IT hardware and associated software, providing timely assistance to both our headquarters and field locations, and ensuring the efficient functioning of our IT systems. Your expertise will be instrumental in enhancing the overall IT experience for our employees. As an IT Support Specialist, you will provide first-level response to IT support requests from headquarters and field employees through in-person contact, email, or telephone communication. You will remotely diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, conducting basic and advanced computer troubleshooting, including identifying and resolving technical problems and errors. Your responsibilities will also include installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows 10/11 machines and iOS and Android smartphones, managing Users and Computer Objects in Active Directory in a hybrid environment, and performing Windows imaging while proactively researching and driving IT towards modern approaches for image management. You will analyze, install, modify, and support operating systems or utilities software, be responsible for endpoint management, conditional access policies, and security using Microsoft MFA. Additionally, you will support M365 applications, including Office and Teams, and assist with multi-function printers and teleconferencing equipment. Preparing IT equipment and upgrading software prior to issuance to end-users, evaluating the condition of returned equipment, and preparing for redeployment or retirement will also be part of your duties. You will administer various user accounts, assist end-users with the installation and placement of IT equipment at their workstations, and collaborate with IT management to create reports and document procedures. Maintaining a professional and ethical demeanor at all times and ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and organization of your immediate work area are essential aspects of this role.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or other related technical discipline and minimum 2+ years of relevant IT related experience OR in lieu of education, minimum 5+ years of IT related experience.
  • Proficiency in IT principles and the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to a diverse audience.
  • Strong customer service focus demonstrated through courteous technical support.
  • The ability to understand task urgency and prioritize accordingly.
  • Willingness to learn new systems and skills through self-directed learning and collaboration with team members.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Windows operating system.
  • Preferred experience with Windows domain and Active Directory.
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts is a plus.
  • Preferred experience in the transportation/logistics industry.
