About the position

Seoyon E-Hwa Texas Inc. is seeking a motivated IT Support Specialist to join our team in Hutto, Texas. This full-time position reports directly to the IT Manager and is essential for providing technical support in a predominantly Windows-based environment. The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting local servers, Windows workstations, and Zebra barcode hardware, while addressing IT issues as they arise. This role is crucial for ensuring that internal stakeholders receive timely and effective support for their technical needs. In this position, the IT Support Specialist will serve as the initial point of contact for internal stakeholders, assisting with various applications and hardware-related inquiries. Responsibilities include performing basic system administration tasks, maintaining email and intranet services, and ensuring confidentiality regarding user account information. The specialist will also install and maintain peripheral devices, assist in setting up and maintaining the company’s Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) systems, and monitor tasks in the support queue to resolve issues promptly. The role requires proactive research into new technologies and software to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve efficiency. The IT Support Specialist will collaborate with the IT Manager to analyze hardware and software needs, maintain inventory records, and coordinate service orders for repairs or replacements. This position is in-office and does not offer remote or hybrid work options, emphasizing the importance of being physically present to support the team effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for internal stakeholders to provide support on various applications and hardware-related inquiries.
  • Perform basic system administration such as PC setup and routine day-to-day hardware and software maintenance.
  • Maintain email and intranet services by creating new user accounts or deleting accounts as necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding user account information.
  • Install and maintain peripheral devices, including printers, hubs, routers, and other equipment.
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining company Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Monitor and manage tasks in queue and work independently to resolve in a timely manner.
  • Using various communication methods such as phone, email, chat, etc., diagnose and resolve users' computer inquiries regarding software, connectivity, printing, or other hardware issues.
  • Create SOPs for new processes and modify/update existing processes as necessary.
  • Proactively research new technology and software to develop cost or labor-saving opportunities.
  • Continually evaluate opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness when resolving issues.
  • Assist in periodic diagnostics and testing to ensure optimal network function with minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate with IT Manager to review and analyze hardware and software needs.
  • Maintain inventory records of IT equipment and software licenses.
  • Coordinate service orders for repairs or replacement of defective products or software.
  • Stay up to date on technological innovations and trends.
  • Collaborate with other staff to research and resolve computer-related issues.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field or a Technical Certification.
  • Basic understanding of existing network programs and capabilities.
  • Understanding of workstations, networks, and server administration.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical internal stakeholders.
  • Capability to learn an array of computer software and hardware.
  • Self-starter who is logical, analytical, methodical, and can think outside of the box.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding time management skills.
  • Capacity to lift and carry 45 lbs.
  • Ability to provide after-hours support as necessary.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to type 50+ words per minute.
  • Knowledge in C# and SQL programming.
