About the position

The IT Support Specialist at Innovative Solutions & Support (IS&S) is responsible for providing technical support and assistance to users at the company's headquarters in Exton, PA. This role involves managing and maintaining various operating systems, user accounts, and network security measures, ensuring the availability and performance of internal network connections, and diagnosing and resolving technical issues. The position requires strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate technical information effectively to users with varying levels of technical understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for Windows 11, 10, and Linux operating systems.
  • Administer Office 365, including user account management.
  • Manage Active Directory for user and workgroup maintenance.
  • Create mapped network drives and manage network access permissions.
  • Administer Windows Server and VMware environments, both physical and virtual.
  • Set up and deploy VPN configurations.
  • Manage DHCP and ensure the performance and security of LANs and vLANs.
  • Monitor internal network connections for availability and performance.
  • Diagnose and repair technical issues as they arise.
  • Evaluate operating practices for security and control adequacy.
  • Respond to user inquiries and assist with PC-related issues.
  • Administer security measures to protect data systems and databases.
  • Assist with PC builds and deployment processes.
  • Research and investigate new technology and software solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of customer service or technical support experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with Office 365 administration and Active Directory.
  • Familiarity with network management, including DHCP and VPN setup.
  • Experience with Windows Server Administration and VMware.
  • Ability to articulate technical issues to users of varying technical backgrounds.
  • Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
  • Familiarity with 802.11ax networking standards.
