About the position
The IT Support Specialist at Collins Pine Company is responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for the Kane office and other locations. This role involves assisting end users with their technology needs, troubleshooting issues, and performing installations and upgrades of various client technology assets.
Responsibilities
- Respond to end user questions about systems, applications, and hardware in person, over the phone, and email.
- Install, diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrade all types of client technology assets and software (desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, phones, VDI, peripherals and conference room technologies).
- Assist in higher level IT tasks (e.g., server or network device installation, documentation modification and/or creation, etc. as directed).
Requirements
- Strong telephone and email communication skills.
- Excellent customer service, phone support, interpersonal, and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to interact effectively with end users and/or external technical support representatives.
- Ability and desire to learn.
- Ability to learn, understand and follow written procedures, adapt and respond quickly to a changing work environment.
- Accomplish tasks with minimal direction and/or supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 Standard.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and logical skills.
- Knowledge of Windows 10 operating system.
- Understanding of DHCP, DNS, and Active Directory as it relates to user desktop issues and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking protocol to do preliminary network troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting printers and multifunction printers preferred.
- Some VOIP (Mitel) experience is a plus.
