About the position

The IT Support Specialist will provide essential IT support to the client, focusing on maintaining and upgrading various systems within a lab environment that adheres to strict government regulations. The role involves working with a mix of current and legacy technologies, including Windows, Red Hat, Ubuntu, and Solaris systems, ensuring efficient operation and compliance with corporate policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide software and hardware support
• Perform systems maintenance and upgrades
• Conduct technical implementation reviews with customers and peers
• Document and review knowledge related to IT processes
• Identify gaps in processes and propose improvements
• Support infrastructure in small/local environments
• Coordinate cross-functional work activities with peer groups
• Communicate with customers regarding system outages and maintenance activities

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 3 years of IT support experience
• 3 years of experience with Windows (XP or newer OS)
• 2 years of experience with computer hardware support
• 2 years of customer service experience
• 3 years of experience with Microsoft Office

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Linux Operating Systems
