About the position

Fairview Range is hiring an IT Support Specialist for our Information Technology department in Hibbing, MN. As an IT Support Specialist, you will provide mid-level support to users through calls routed to the Technical Service Center (IT Help Desk). You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of resolutions. This position will work 72 to 80 hours per two weeks, with a typical shift length of 8 hours. The shift will generally be during the day, but there is potential for occasional evening, night, and weekend shifts. This role is crucial in ensuring that users receive timely and effective support for their IT needs, contributing to the overall efficiency of the organization. In this position, you will document user requests for service appropriately, ensuring that all demographic information is recorded correctly. You will also be responsible for entering problems into the Call Management system following established procedures. Your duties will include following documented workflow processes to reset clinical, financial, and network devices, as well as rerouting, deleting, and restarting print jobs, and resetting passwords for applications. Additionally, you will complete server reboots as scheduled or requested, assist with life cycle replacements, and perform software and hardware installations. You will be expected to determine and resolve system problems effectively while maintaining accurate internal records and logs as instructed. Demonstrating a willingness to improve efficiency and effectiveness is essential, as is assisting in the setup of computers and peripheral equipment as requested by your supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Documenting user requests for service appropriately, recording callers' demographic information correctly, and recording the problem into the Call Management system following documented procedures.
  • Following documented workflow processes to reset clinical, financial, and network devices, reroute, delete and restart print jobs, and reset passwords for applications, documenting into the Call Management System.
  • Completing server reboots as scheduled or requested.
  • Assisting with life cycle replacements.
  • Performing software and hardware installs.
  • Determining and resolving system problems effectively.
  • Maintaining accurate internal records and logs as instructed or established.
  • Demonstrating a willingness to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assisting in the setting up of computers and peripheral equipment as requested by supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma
  • 1 year of training or experience with basic computer skills.
  • Typing ability and speed necessary.

Nice-to-haves

  • Computer experience in a health care facility desirable.
  • 1-3 years of training or experience with basic computer skills.
  • Associates degree.
