About the position
The IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical support to end users on various IT-related issues, including hardware, software, and applications. This role involves troubleshooting basic network connectivity issues, managing IT assets, and escalating unresolved problems to senior IT support or vendors. The specialist will also participate in IT projects as assigned by the IT manager.
Responsibilities
- Responds to IT Helpdesk tickets, calls, and emails from employees seeking help.
- Serve as first tier support to resolve technical problems.
- Escalate issues to Senior IT support or Vendor Support and follow through until resolution.
- Manage basic Active Directory tasks such as creating accounts and updating user/group information.
- Maintain accurate inventory of hardware and software for IT asset management.
- Perform log reviews of various systems and applications.
- Provision PCs, laptops, printers, scanners, etc.
- Assist in testing and deployment of new applications and updates to existing applications.
- Participate in special projects or tasks as directed by IT senior management.
- Prepare routine and special reports as required and maintain proper documentation.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 2 years of related experience and/or training in IT support.
- 2 years of general hardware support and repair experience, including PCs, laptops, printers, and network devices.
- 2 years of general software support experience, including Windows and Microsoft Office suite.
- Proven experience working with a Windows domain (adding/removing accounts, password resets).
- Experience with basic networking (TCP/IP stack, basic connectivity diagnostics).
- Ability to multitask and manage demanding workloads.
