About the position

The IT Support Specialist at Element U.S. Space & Defense is responsible for providing comprehensive technical support to employees, including hardware and software troubleshooting, network support, and equipment maintenance. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems and assisting users with various technical issues in a dynamic environment focused on space and defense projects.

Responsibilities

  • Support users and provide technical support to employees, Maintech technicians, consultants, and customers, resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Build, configure, and deploy workstations and servers.
  • Responsible for computer maintenance, including repair and replacement, reload or troubleshooting, configuring new or loaner equipment, computer disposal, and ordering new equipment.
  • Configure and support IP phones and paging systems, including troubleshooting issues.
  • Support the network by troubleshooting, replacing and repairing equipment, assisting with switches, installing Fiber, creating CAT6 cables, and managing wireless access points.
  • Handle shipping and receiving of equipment including network, servers, phones, and computers.
  • Conduct inventory and administrative work relating to computers, accounts, phones, and network equipment; document all support & maintenance activity.
  • Troubleshoot server issues including DNS, DHCP, and shared drives access.
  • Provide printer support including maintenance, configuring, scanning, and working with vendors on printer replacements and disposal.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to support issues within an Active Directory integrated environment.
  • Ability to support users working within RDP, including basic troubleshooting and knowledge of remote printers and connectivity.
  • Good understanding of IT systems including Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Windows Server 2008R2, Windows 365, MS Office Suites, and networking equipment.
  • Excellent day-to-day ticket management using an IT ticketing system, including regularly updating work logs.
  • Ability to support and troubleshoot mobile/tablet devices including Windows, iOS, and Android platforms.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to solve practical problems while maintaining strict compliance with existing policies and procedures.
  • Highly motivated with a positive attitude and enthusiasm to learn new skills and technologies.
  • Strong written/oral communication skills and good customer service.
