About the position

We are looking for technically skilled candidates with good problem-solving ability for the position of IT Support Specialist. The duties of an IT specialist include being a reference point for all IT-related queries at the user level, responding to user needs in a timely manner, and ensuring the optimal running of all systems, among other technical duties. IT specialists are expected to display good interpersonal skills as they will interact with colleagues from various departments and executive levels. They are required to listen to their technical needs, understand their problems, and implement solutions to them. The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for installing and configuring hardware and software components to ensure usability. Troubleshooting hardware and software issues is a key part of the role, as well as ensuring that electrical safety standards are met. The specialist will also be tasked with repairing or replacing damaged hardware, upgrading systems to enable compatible software on all computers, and installing and upgrading anti-virus software to ensure security at the user level. Performing tests and evaluations of new software and hardware will also be part of the job, along with providing support to users and being the first point of contact for error reporting. Establishing good relationships with all departments and colleagues is essential, as is conducting daily backup operations and managing technical documentation. The role will also involve Office 365 administration, managing firewalls, antivirus software, and remote access software, as well as troubleshooting issues with printers, phone systems, and other PC issues. The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for network and domain management, recovering lost data from hard drives, disassembling and reassembling computers, performing normal maintenance and updates, and removing virus threats and malware. Additionally, the specialist will format old computers to prepare them for recycling, manage office cable management, set up workstations with dual monitors and network printers, create and complete service tickets, troubleshoot and document issues, assist in equipment procurement and life cycle processes, and manage inventory documentation. The role will also involve assisting in server 2016 Active Directory operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in computer networks and systems maintenance.
  • A+, Linux+, or Cisco Certified Network Associate accreditation advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in database programming and software installation.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
