As an IT Support Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless technology operations within HDR. Your expertise will empower our internal customers to work efficiently and effectively, while your commitment to exceptional customer service will elevate their experience. In this role, you will apply your technical prowess to address business needs and overcome constraints, leveraging technology to enhance productivity and drive results. You will assist staff in maximizing computing resources through troubleshooting, training, and providing advanced support. Engaging in enterprise-wide IT projects and initiatives, your contributions will shape our technological landscape and foster innovation. You will diagnose system hardware, software, and operator issues, ensuring smooth operations across our network. Tackling complex IT challenges head-on, your ability to unravel intricate issues will keep our systems running seamlessly. Providing expert assistance with software applications, from installation to optimization, you will be the go-to resource for software support. Offering training for enterprise applications when applicable, your patient guidance will empower colleagues to navigate technology confidently. You will request hardware and software as needed, ensuring our teams have the tools required for success, and be the backbone of hardware support, including printers and other devices. Collaborating with the IT Support team to manage desktops, laptops, and printers, you will also assist with software inventory. Facilitating communication on technical support topics within our local office, your proactive approach ensures everyone stays informed. Understanding client business needs and matching them with effective technology solutions will drive impactful implementations, while working closely with internal technology teams will contribute to essential IT infrastructure processes and procedures. Your versatility will be key as you remain ready for other duties as needed, ensuring our IT ecosystem remains robust.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Computer Science/MIS-related area or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in technical support of PC, networks, and servers.
  • Excellent working knowledge of personal computers and peripherals.
  • Experience in systems operations and maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of Windows 7/10/365 and Windows 2003/2008/2012 Server.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent client service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Self-starter able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines with minimal supervision.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with tools such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, ProjectWise, and/or GIS is advantageous but not required.
  • Preference will be given to local applicants.
