About the position

The IT Support Specialist will provide essential end user and operating system support for the Fayetteville, NC plant. This role emphasizes excellent customer service, technical support for both Windows and Linux environments, and addressing cyber security remediation. The specialist will join an existing team and contribute to maintaining the IT environment effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Create, delete, and maintain user accounts.
  • Configuration, implementation, and maintenance of storage file system structures.
  • Use monitoring tools to assess system performance.
  • Review system log files to analyze trends and/or problems.
  • Support basic level operating system administrative functions.
  • Troubleshoot basic problems and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Document standard operating system/hardware processes and procedures.
  • Support backup/restore operational issues.
  • Involved with the installation, monitoring, and maintenance of operating systems.
  • Testing and implementation of operating system upgrades and patches.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in IT or related field.
  • 2 or more years of experience in Information Technology or 7+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • General knowledge of information technology.
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem determination skills.
