The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for administering the day-to-day operations of all computer systems, which includes configuring user devices such as computers, phones, and tablets. The role requires placing orders for hardware and software, analyzing user requirements, and automating processes to enhance system efficiency. The specialist will also assist in maintaining servers and network systems, providing user support for hardware and software requests, and performing troubleshooting on Windows-based operating systems, specifically Windows 10 and 11. In addition to user support, the IT Support Specialist will review and analyze the company's computer systems and user needs, documenting requirements and formulating systems that align with the company's business strategies. The role involves administering Windows-based server applications, managing Active Directory and Group Policy, and ensuring the proper functioning of the company's information systems through regular upgrades and maintenance. The specialist will also be responsible for managing access to resources, installing new software releases, and conducting system design and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT support, with experience in troubleshooting hardware and software issues, installing and configuring computer systems, and understanding networking fundamentals. Responsibilities

  • Manage all user requests, analyzing user requirements and problems to improve existing computer systems.
  • Administer day-to-day operations for all computer systems, including configuring user devices such as computers, phones, and tablets.
  • Place orders for hardware/software requests and analyze user requirements to automate processing or improve existing systems.
  • Assist in maintaining servers and network systems, providing user support for all hardware/software requests.
  • Perform end-user troubleshooting on Windows-based operating systems for Windows 10/11.
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate the company's computer systems and user needs, documenting requirements and formulating systems that align with business strategies.
  • Administer Windows-based server applications, including Active Directory and Group Policy management.
  • Configure and troubleshoot hardware devices, drivers, and desktop computers.
  • Ensure proper functioning of information systems by performing upgrades as required.
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, detecting and resolving related problems.
  • Utilize industry standards for system backups and recovery for desktop/laptop computers and servers.
  • Manage and troubleshoot access to resources, including files, folders, and cloud applications.
  • Install new software releases and system upgrades, evaluating and installing patches.
  • Run diagnostic tests to ensure efficient operation of information systems.
  • Conduct system design and maintenance, maintaining secure computer systems by managing access to portable storage devices.
  • Monitor software licenses and ensure timely renewals, reviewing license needs routinely.
  • Maintain and monitor ticket queue utilizing industry standard applications.
  • Assist in maintenance of VMware server and physical servers, including mandatory upgrades.
  • Train new users on software and company policies, tracking and documenting troubleshooting efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
  • 3 years or more of professional experience in IT support, providing technical assistance to users via phone, email, or in-person.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues, installing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems and peripherals.
  • Strong understanding of operating systems and networking fundamentals.
  • Experience enhancing existing systems to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Ability to participate in project planning and execution, conducting system testing and quality assurance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification preferred.
  • CompTIA A+ certification preferred.
  • Japanese language skills preferred but not required.
