About the position

The IT Support Specialist at Element U.S. Space & Defense is responsible for providing comprehensive technical support to employees, including hardware and software troubleshooting, network support, and equipment maintenance. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems and assisting users with various technical issues, thereby contributing to the overall efficiency of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Support users and provide technical support to employees, Maintech technicians, consultants, and customers, resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Build, configure, and deploy workstations and servers.
  • Maintain computers, including repair, replacement, reloading, troubleshooting, and configuring new or loaner equipment.
  • Configure and support IP phones and paging systems, including troubleshooting issues.
  • Support the network by troubleshooting, replacing, and repairing network equipment, assisting with switches, and installing cabling.
  • Handle shipping and receiving of IT equipment, including network devices, servers, phones, and computers.
  • Perform inventory and administrative tasks related to computers, accounts, phones, and network equipment, documenting all support and maintenance activities.
  • Troubleshoot server issues, including DNS, DHCP, and shared drives access.
  • Provide printer support, including maintenance, configuration, and vendor coordination for replacements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to support issues within an Active Directory integrated environment.
  • Ability to support users working within RDP, including troubleshooting remote printers and connectivity issues.
  • Good understanding of IT systems including Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Windows Server 2008R2, Windows 365, MS Office Suites, SharePoint, and networking equipment.
  • Excellent day-to-day ticket management using an IT ticketing system, including updating work logs.
  • Ability to support and troubleshoot mobile/tablet devices across various platforms.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to solve practical problems while adhering to policies and standards.
  • Highly motivated with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn new skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Good customer service skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Technical certifications such as Microsoft Certified Professional, CompTIA, and others.
