About the position

As an IT Support Specialist at Trans Ova Genetics, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional service and support to our internal customers, which include employees across the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to assist with IT-related issues and support all electronic devices, including PCs, servers, and phones. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and customer service skills, as you will be the first point of contact for employees experiencing technical difficulties. In this role, you will be accountable for delivering both remote and on-site technical support to end users. This includes managing desktop hardware and software issues, performing upgrades and deployments of desktop and laptop systems, and ensuring that all IT equipment is functioning optimally. You will also monitor server and network health, conduct user account maintenance, and oversee data backups, including performing restores when necessary. Your ability to communicate effectively and resolve issues quickly will be essential in this position. You will need to handle conflicting demands and priorities while maintaining a customer-oriented approach. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in information technology, with at least two years of proven experience in troubleshooting and installing hardware in a network environment. Additionally, familiarity with various technologies, including Microsoft InTune, AutoPilot, and Active Directory, will be beneficial in providing comprehensive support to our users.

Responsibilities

  • Assist internal customers with IT-related issues and support for electronic devices including PCs, servers, and phones.
  • Provide remote and on-site technical support to end users of desktop hardware/software.
  • Manage desktop and laptop upgrades and deployments.
  • Monitor server and network health, performing user account maintenance.
  • Oversee data backups and perform data restores as needed.
  • Resolve and escalate problems quickly and efficiently, handling conflicting demands and priorities.
  • Write and edit business and technical documents as required.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of proven experience in information technology.
  • Ability to clearly read, write, and speak English.
  • Strong customer service orientation with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Technical and logical problem-solving skills with strong analytical abilities.
  • Sound knowledge of desktop equipment including hardware, software products, and related applications.
  • Experience with Microsoft InTune and AutoPilot preferred.
  • Familiarity with Anti-Virus and malware removal tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Azure-based networks.
  • Proficiency in operating systems: Windows 10/11, Microsoft Windows Server 2019/2022, including patching and maintenance.
  • Experience with desktop software configuration and rollouts of Office 365.

Nice-to-haves

  • Exposure to Trend Micro Anti-Malware software.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Experience with Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server administration and TSQL.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication.
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP based networks.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams.
