About the position

Rhombus is seeking an IT Support Specialist to manage and support all IT needs within the organization. Founded in 2016, Rhombus is dedicated to enhancing safety through a centralized platform that integrates intelligent cameras, sensors, and AI analytics. The IT Support Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring that the company's IT infrastructure is robust and efficient, contributing to the overall mission of making the world a safer place. This position involves a variety of responsibilities, including installing and upgrading hardware and software components, assisting with network administration, and resolving IT support issues across different departments such as Sales and Engineering. The ideal candidate will be responsible for regularly evaluating IT systems to ensure they meet operational demands, ensuring data storage security, and educating coworkers on network security and best practices for computer usage. The role requires a hands-on approach to support day-to-day operations of the computer network, including user administration and troubleshooting issues both in person and remotely. The IT Support Specialist will also utilize office administration tools to maintain healthy mail flow and manage spam filters. This position is based in Sacramento, CA, and requires the candidate to be onsite five days a week. The successful candidate will have a strong background in IT support, with relevant experience and certifications being a significant advantage. Responsibilities

  • Installing new software and hardware components
  • Regularly evaluating IT systems to ensure they meet necessary demands
  • Assisting with network administration tasks
  • Ensuring data storage is safe and secure
  • Resolving all issues coworkers have with their IT systems and software
  • Educating coworkers about network security and best practices for computer usage
  • Supporting the day-to-day operations of the computer network
  • Utilizing Office administration tools to ensure healthy mail flow, working spam filters, user administration, among others
  • Working with employees to resolve daily issues in person and remotely

Requirements

  • Associate's degree
  • 2 years of relevant experience
  • Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication ability, both written and verbal
  • User administration experience with either Office or Google Suite
  • Experience using Windows and Mac machines
  • Firewall experience
  • Networking experience or certifications are a plus
  • Certification is a plus: IAT I, A+CE, Net+CE, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CCNA/P, Microsoft certified
