About the position

The IT Support Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the CCNA business unit under the supervision of the IS/IT Manager. This position involves deploying solutions determined at the group level and collaborating closely with Saint-Gobain's ITS and Cybersecurity teams to troubleshoot and maintain the technology systems that the business relies on for its computer and software networks. The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for responding to hardware issues, updating system software, and tracking data and communications across the network. Key responsibilities include assisting with infrastructure upgrades and maintenance, where the specialist will support senior team members in implementing upgrades at various North American locations. This includes server, network, and firewall upgrades to ensure optimal performance and security. The role also involves planning and coordinating infrastructure and application changes for site expansions, relocations, or modifications, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements. Additionally, the IT Support Specialist will provide basic troubleshooting and support for audio-visual systems across multiple locations, ensuring these systems function efficiently for business meetings and events. The role also encompasses supporting and upgrading legacy systems used in critical areas such as laboratories and warehouses, assisting with corporate integration and migration projects during mergers or acquisitions, and collaborating with IT and Cybersecurity teams to address security-related issues. The specialist will also provide initial escalation support for end-user issues and offer dedicated IT support to VIP users, ensuring a high level of customer service and responsiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with infrastructure upgrades and maintenance at various North American locations.
  • Support senior team members in implementing server, network, and firewall upgrades.
  • Plan and coordinate infrastructure and application changes for site expansions or relocations.
  • Provide basic troubleshooting and support for audio-visual systems across multiple locations.
  • Support and upgrade legacy systems used in critical areas such as laboratories and warehouses.
  • Assist with corporate integration and migration projects during mergers or acquisitions.
  • Collaborate with IT and Cybersecurity teams to address security-related issues.
  • Provide initial escalation support for end-user issues and coordinate with distributed IT support teams.
  • Offer dedicated IT support to VIP users, ensuring their technical needs are met promptly.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology is required.
  • CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ certifications are preferred.
  • 5 years of experience supporting medium to large organizations with multiple sites is required.
  • Knowledge of industrial networks and PLC experience is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task are required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues is required.
  • Knowledge of IT Security / Cyber Security is preferred.
  • Leadership and communication skills are required.
  • Project management experience in a high-paced work environment is required.
  • Excellent communication skills are required.

  • Experience with industrial networks and PLC systems is preferred.
