About the position

The IT Support Specialist at Dilworth Paxson LLP is responsible for providing technical support to employees and ensuring the smooth operation of computer systems, software, and hardware across the organization. This role involves diagnosing and resolving IT-related issues, setting up new systems, and maintaining a secure and efficient IT environment. The position requires a strong technical background and the ability to work in a hybrid setting, with some travel to various office locations for support and project work.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the development, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including workstations, servers, network equipment, storage, operating systems, telephones, software applications, and copiers/printers.
  • Monitor and manage firewall settings and implement tight policies and procedures to ensure network security.
  • Ensure that hardware and software infrastructure is maintained with the latest firmware and software requirements.
  • Manage support of all systems & networking related issues.
  • Provide desktop support to end-users, addressing hardware and software issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Respond promptly to user-reported issues via phone, email or ticketing system.
  • Train end-users on hardware functionality and software programs.
  • Support Virtual Private Network (VPN) connections for remote users.
  • Identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improving the overall network health by assessing overall effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Work on projects and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4+ years of progressive IT experience, including experience in a multi-office environment.
  • Expert with Microsoft 10 and 11 Operating Systems and MS Office 365 Product Suite.
  • Experience with supporting VoIP phone systems administration & design.
  • Experience with Windows Server 2016/2019 platform & Active Directory/Group Policy.
  • Experience with Sharepoint in the Cloud.
  • Experience with switches, routers, firewalls, VPN.
  • Cisco experience preferred.
  • Experience with administration & support of Exchange Cloud.
  • Experience with VMWare and virtual environments a PLUS.
  • Experience with Security, Backup and Disaster Recovery strategies.
  • Experience with Wireless networks/security.
  • Excellent technical problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to function effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Security, Backup and Disaster Recovery strategies.
  • Cisco experience preferred.
  • Experience with VMWare and virtual environments a PLUS.
