About the position

As an IT Support Specialist at Cooper University Health Care, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of technology across the organization. Your primary responsibilities will include providing support to Cooper University Hospital and its off-site ambulatory practices. This involves installing and configuring various software and hardware systems, responding to customer support calls, and troubleshooting issues related to peripherals, data network devices, smartphones, and all other equipment utilized for Cooper's business operations. You will be expected to effectively manage network connectivity issues, update hardware inventory, and replace or remove outdated equipment as necessary. In addition to technical support, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation. This documentation will serve as a valuable resource for both current and future IT staff. You will also collaborate with other IT teams and service vendors to resolve complex problems, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. The role requires a high degree of independence, as you will often be working with minimal supervision while managing various problems and projects simultaneously. Your ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff will be essential in this position, as you will need to explain technical issues in a clear and concise manner. A customer-focused attitude and a positive, can-do approach are critical to your success in this role, as you will be the first point of contact for many users experiencing technical difficulties.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to Cooper University Hospital and off-site ambulatory practices.
  • Install and configure software and hardware systems.

  • Update hardware inventory, including spare parts.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in computer hardware installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Customer-focused with a positive, can-do approach.
  • Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice-to-haves

  • A+ certification preferred.
  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification or equivalent work experience preferred.
