About the position

The IT Support Specialist position is responsible for providing technical support to clients, focusing on a variety of engineering activities within lab environments. The role involves maintaining and upgrading systems, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and facilitating effective communication regarding system outages and maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide software and hardware support
• Perform systems maintenance and upgrades
• Conduct technical implementation reviews with customers and peers
• Document and review knowledge
• Identify gaps in processes and propose improvements
• Support infrastructure of small/local environments
• Coordinate cross-functional work activities with peer groups
• Communicate with customers regarding systems outages and maintenance activities

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 2+ years of experience in a medium/large enterprise environment
• Experience in client computer hardware support
• Customer service experience
• Proficiency in Windows (XP or newer OS)
• 3 years of IT support experience
• 3 years of experience with Windows
• 2 years of computer hardware experience
• 2 years of customer service experience
• 3 years of experience with MS Office

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Linux Operating Systems
