About the position

The IT Support Specialist at Freedom Forever will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive support to staff on all company-supported applications. This position involves troubleshooting computer issues, determining their sources, and advising on appropriate actions to resolve them. The IT Support Specialist will also engage in project-based work related to support, ensuring that all IT systems function smoothly and efficiently. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of customer service. In this position, the IT Support Specialist will provide Tier 1 Help Desk support, which includes managing workspace changes in the Podio Database and maintaining an inventory system to track all deployed and inactive equipment within the company. The specialist will be responsible for troubleshooting issues for both in-house and remote end-users, creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to educate users, and testing database fixes before implementation to ensure a seamless transition. Additionally, the role involves maintaining the ticketing system using Zendesk, assisting with hardware moves and setups, and creating strategic plans to implement IT-forward infrastructure. The IT Support Specialist will also perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall efficiency of the IT department.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 1 Help Desk support
  • Manage workspace changes in Podio Database
  • Maintain inventory system on Podio for tracking deployed and inactive equipment
  • Troubleshoot issues for in-house and remote end-users
  • Create SOPs for educating end-users
  • Test database fixes before implementation
  • Maintain ticketing system (Zendesk)

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a related field (preferred)
  • High School Graduate or GED
  • 1-2 years of experience in an IT role preferred but not required
  • At least three years of hands-on experience in providing help desk support
  • Experience in a fast-paced or high-volume IT support function
  • Working knowledge of help desk software and user account management
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
