About the position

Peraton is seeking an Entry Level Customer Technical Specialist/IT Support Specialist to provide support for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at airports across the United States. This position is based in Atlanta, GA, and requires the candidate to work onsite at the airport. The role involves extensive desk-side IT support, where the specialist will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues for senior executive government staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and have the ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearance. The position offers a competitive salary of $49,398.43 per year, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, dental insurance, and a 401(k) plan. The work schedule is a standard 8-hour shift from Monday to Friday, providing a stable work-life balance. To qualify for this role, candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with varying levels of relevant experience based on educational background. Those with an associate degree should have at least 2 years of experience, while candidates with a bachelor's degree should have at least 1 year of experience. Preferred qualifications include certifications such as A+, Network+, Cisco, Microsoft, and ITIL4, as well as experience in project management and IT infrastructure support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide desk-side IT support to senior executive government staff.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a professional manner.
  • Install and configure Cisco switches and manage fiber backbone interconnectivity.
  • Connect, patch, and repair Cat6 and fiber infrastructure.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience or an associate degree with 2 years' experience or a bachelor's degree with 1+ years' experience.
  • Extensive experience with desk-side IT support.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with senior executive government staff.
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearance.
