About the position

The IT Support Specialist at Greater Nashua Mental Health is responsible for providing technical assistance and support to users regarding IT tools and systems. This role involves setting up new computers and phones, managing helpdesk requests, and ensuring smooth operation of technology within the agency. The specialist will also assist with the implementation of new software and participate in various IT projects as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, respond to, and escalate computer helpdesk and printer help requests.
  • Assist staff with Electronic Medical Record (EMR), printer, computer, software, phone, iPhone, or hotspot issues.
  • Coordinate printer assistance and maintain toner supplies for staff.
  • Set up computers and profiles for new staff and assist with desktop logins.
  • Enroll and set up new users on GNMH technology tools and complete orientation for new staff.
  • Out-process staff who are leaving the agency.
  • Follow up on support tickets with the EMR vendor and work with other vendors to resolve issues.
  • Work on assigned projects such as submitting monthly reports and updating weekly reports.
  • Ensure computer inventory and phone extensions are up-to-date and document essential IT functions.
  • Complete EMR/IT application tasks such as setting up templates and training users on IT applications.
  • Move office IT equipment and manage printer/phone changes due to staff relocations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree in Human Services, Psychology, IT or related field is preferred.
  • 1-2 years related experience in IT support or a similar role.
  • Familiarity with Windows/Office environments and Electronic Medical Records.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Email, Word, Excel).
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and be flexible with workload and assignments.
  • Ability to exercise judgment.

  • Experience with IT project management.
  • Knowledge of additional software applications used in healthcare settings.
