About the position

Westminster Canterbury Richmond is seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide essential technical support to a vibrant community of 700 employees and 800 residents. This full-time position is based onsite in our beautiful community located in the historic Bellevue neighborhood. The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for responding to and diagnosing a wide range of customer issues submitted to the Help Desk, as well as the installation and technical support of computers and peripherals. This role is crucial in ensuring that our staff and residents have the necessary technology support to enhance their daily experiences. In this position, you will engage in various responsibilities, including providing help desk support to both residents and staff, configuring and installing computers and peripherals, setting up new users on the network, and maintaining an inventory of computer equipment. You will also assist in monitoring backup and antivirus systems, perform basic network troubleshooting, and provide software training to staff as needed. Additionally, you will offer backup support to the Telecommunication Specialist and undertake other duties as assigned. Responsibilities

  • Provide help desk support to residents and staff.
  • Configure and install computers and peripherals.
  • Setup new users on the network.
  • Maintain inventory of computer equipment.
  • Assist in the monitoring of the backup and antivirus system.
  • Perform basic network troubleshooting.
  • Assist in staff software training as needed.
  • Provide backup support to the Telecommunication Specialist.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in information systems or two years' work experience or equivalent knowledge of troubleshooting desktops in a network environment.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Desktop Operating System.
  • Ability to install and operate a variety of business applications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Basic understanding of networking.
  • Valid Driver's License in the State of Virginia with a minimum age of 21 to drive for the organization.
  • Motor Vehicle Driving Record satisfactory to the Agency and its insurance providers.
  • Proof of motor vehicle insurance.
