About the position

As an IT Support Specialist at Surya Inc., you will be an integral part of a growing team responsible for implementing and supporting the IT infrastructure that facilitates the distribution of products and ensures organizational stability across multiple platforms. This role is dedicated to all aspects of computer setup, installation, troubleshooting, service, upgrades, and maintenance. You will also be responsible for managing how computers connect to the network, handling printing tasks both locally and on the network, and supporting handheld devices such as tablets, PDAs, and smartphones. In this position, you will have the unique opportunity to showcase your technical skills while working directly with personnel from all departments across the company. You will offer advice, training, solutions, and guidance, making your role crucial in maintaining the efficiency of the IT systems. Candidates should be comfortable within the Microsoft stack and possess deep technical knowledge. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented environment, be eager to learn new skills and technologies, and be motivated to work in a fast-paced atmosphere where multitasking is encouraged. This position will report directly to the IT Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Install and configure software and hardware
  • Setup new employee equipment (laptops, desktops, phones, door badges, etc.)
  • Manage and troubleshoot printers, tablets, and smartphones
  • Manage Active Directory and Exchange user accounts and groups
  • Administer on-premise phone system and handsets
  • Asset and inventory management and tracking
  • Provide problem resolution for core applications
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or 1-3 years equivalent experience required
  • Functional skills in networking administration, server operating systems, and environments
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Analytical and basic problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to break down tasks and estimate work assignments
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical approach, status, and necessity for assistance
  • Ability to interact independently as well as with a team
  • Adaptable to change
