About the position

The IT Support Specialist at FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific, Inc. is responsible for installing, maintaining, analyzing, troubleshooting, and repairing personal computer systems and laptops, along with related hardware and software. This role involves providing end-user technical support, managing Help Desk tasks, and ensuring effective IT customer service. The specialist will also maintain user account information and may perform limited system administration functions, contributing to the overall efficiency of IT operations within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Provide PC and laptop hardware support, including installations, relocations, and upgrades.
  • Provide necessary desktop application support and deployment.
  • Create and maintain user login, group access, and security records.
  • Provide user training on network and desktop applications.
  • Support teleconference and videoconference meetings, desktop phone support, and audio-visual support.
  • Maintain inventory and configuration documentation on company computers.
  • Maintain software inventory and licensing records for company computers.
  • Submit information for budgets and monitor expenses.
  • Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential and promoting ethical computing.
  • Provide secondary support and assistance to other IT staff members.
  • Create and maintain documentation and desktop instructions for routinely performed tasks.
  • Participate in rotation of 24/7 support for critical IT issues.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years in an information technology service role, with direct experience supporting end-user computer hardware and software in a networked corporate environment.
  • Technical background with Windows Administration, Ethernet/Fiber and wireless technology, TCP/IP and related networking technology.
  • Experience with networked systems and printer setups, maintenance, and troubleshooting of personal computer hardware, software, and operating systems.
  • Knowledge of major desktop applications, Windows operating environments, and networking technologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • MCSE or equivalent certification.
  • Active Directory experience.
  • Microsoft Exchange knowledge.
  • ITIL IT Service Management certification.
  • Cisco Certification.
