About the position

The IT Support Specialist is a crucial role within the organization, responsible for providing essential technical assistance and guidance to ensure the smooth operation of computer systems. This position involves troubleshooting and resolving issues related to PCs, PC networks, and peripheral devices, ensuring that all users receive timely and adequate support. The IT Support Specialist will be the first point of contact for users experiencing technical difficulties, and will be responsible for prioritizing and scheduling problems, as well as escalating issues to more experienced technicians when necessary. In addition to providing support, the IT Support Specialist will also be responsible for the setup and configuration of PCs, printers, and other peripherals. This includes responding to technical inquiries via email, phone, or in person, and diagnosing employee issues as they arise. The role requires a comprehensive knowledge of computer systems, as well as strong problem-solving and analytical skills to effectively address and resolve technical challenges. The IT Support Specialist will work in a professional office environment, utilizing standard office equipment and sitting at a desk for extended periods. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems or Computer Science, along with a strong eagerness to learn new technologies and systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for this role, as the IT Support Specialist will need to interact with various users and provide clear guidance and support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide initial support and assistance to all users of PCs, PC Networks, and related peripheral devices.
  • Support approved PC software applications and ensure business system application issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Prioritize and schedule problems, escalating them to appropriately experienced technicians when required.
  • Ensure each user receives timely and adequate support for their technical issues.
  • Set up and configure PCs, printers, and other peripherals as needed.
  • Respond to technical inquiries via email, over the phone, or in person.
  • Diagnose employee issues and handle them as needed.
  • Update service requests for statuses as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems or Computer Science.
