About the position

The IT Support Technician position is responsible for providing timely and accurate support services for end-user devices, including installation and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and peripherals. This entry-level role serves as the direct interface to customers, assisting with remote support and ensuring compliance with technical standards. The technician will also contribute to inventory management and documentation, while participating in on-call support as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install desktop hardware and software, including desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and operating systems.
• Provide detailed descriptions within help desk tickets, including troubleshooting steps taken.
• Follow AIT standards for devices and software, reporting any non-standard installations.
• Work with networking and server staff to ensure proper end-user connectivity.
• Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on authorized devices as requested.
• Maintain inventory and spare hardware, assisting with audits for compliance.
• Enter and update Service Desk tickets to monitor and track work done in IT support.
• Complete assigned tasks and projects within scheduled deadlines.
• Assist fellow IT Support Technicians to improve teamwork and customer service.
• Meet the standard SLA for incident and request management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of experience in a desktop environment, troubleshooting and maintaining computer systems.
• Basic knowledge of Active Directory, GPO's, and workstation management software.
