About the position

The IT Support Technician I is an entry-level position within the Colorado Judicial Branch, specifically designed to support all computer-related functions. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including troubleshooting computer issues in an office environment that involves desktop, portable, and remote devices. The technician will also handle all peripheral devices, provide application and enterprise system support, and troubleshoot both hardware and software issues. Additionally, the position requires performing computer repairs, as well as the installation and configuration of standard business software and custom court-related software. The IT Support Technician I will assist customers and peer groups with troubleshooting application and hardware installations, ensuring accountability for ITS computing services and equipment. Duties also include scheduling, customer service, testing, and quality control, making this role integral to the smooth operation of IT services within the judicial system.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot computer issues in an office environment including desktop, portable, and remote devices.
  • Provide support for all peripheral devices and application systems.
  • Perform computer repairs and installation of standard business software.
  • Configure custom court-related software as needed.
  • Assist customers and peer groups with troubleshooting application and hardware installations.
  • Accountable for ITS computing services and equipment management.
  • Schedule and manage customer service requests related to IT support.
  • Conduct testing and quality control on IT services and equipment.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field and one year of professional computer/IT technical support experience.
  • Alternatively, three years of professional computer/IT technical support experience may be accepted.
