About the position

The Support Engineer position at Modis is an advanced technical role focused on providing installation and support services for various technologies, including workstations, servers, printers, and networks. The engineer will be responsible for both remote and onsite support, particularly in relation to Microsoft technologies and advanced network configurations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support services for Microsoft related technologies including Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, and SharePoint.
  • Implement specific software such as fax servers and communication software.
  • Offer technical support at the network level, including WAN and LAN connectivity.
  • Configure and troubleshoot multi-function printers in their interaction with desktops, servers, and network infrastructure.
  • Communicate with clients to keep them informed of incident progress and notify them of impending changes or outages.
  • Improve client service, perception, and satisfaction.
  • Work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with colleagues and clients.
  • Escalate service issues that cannot be resolved within agreed service levels.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the service catalog and its relation to client needs.
  • Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities.
  • Enter time and expenses accurately.
  • Log all work as service tickets in the system.
  • Review IT publications and online materials to stay updated with current and future technologies.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience with Microsoft Server and desktop operating systems.
  • Experience in network and router configuration, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Strong diagnostic skills for technical issues.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly.
  • Technical awareness to match resources to technical issues appropriately.
  • Understanding of support tools and techniques used in IT services.
  • Strong typing skills for accurate entry of service request details.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
