About the position

Delaware Business Systems, Inc. is seeking a dedicated IT Support Technician to join our team in Wilmington, DE. This position is crucial for providing exceptional support to our clients, particularly in the realm of Point-of-Sale (POS) systems. The ideal candidate will possess a clean driving record, strong communication skills, and a willingness to undergo a background check. A basic understanding of network topology and the ability to troubleshoot and repair PCs is highly valued. While restaurant experience is a plus, it is not a requirement for this role. As a Point-of-Sale Support Technician, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include answering a high volume of support-related calls, providing break/fix service onsite, and deploying new systems to clients. This dynamic role requires you to triage client concerns and collaborate with team members to resolve service issues effectively. The position is fast-paced and offers opportunities to learn new technologies and improve troubleshooting and interpersonal skills. Flexibility is essential, as the schedule may fluctuate to meet customer demands, and you may be required to work evenings and weekends. Your primary responsibilities will include repairing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and installing various types of POS hardware and software. You will also set up, configure, and troubleshoot both wired and wireless networks, provide phone support for the software we sell, and ensure thorough documentation of your work in our CRM software. This role is not only about technical skills but also about providing first-class customer service and being the face of our company to clients during onsite support. In this position, you will be expected to maintain a replacement part inventory and tools necessary for working on technical equipment utilized in restaurants. You will also assist co-workers with special projects and tasks as assigned, demonstrating accountability and professionalism at all times. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary starting at $20 per hour, and it includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-class phone support to clients.
  • Be the face of DBS to clients during onsite support.
  • Utilize ongoing training to resolve customer issues effectively.
  • Document procedures and service orders accurately.
  • Install and configure new and existing POS hardware and peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot issues thoroughly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Stage equipment for new deployments and assist in hardware maintenance.
  • Perform thorough documentation in CRM software for assigned work orders.
  • Assist co-workers with special projects and tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain a replacement part inventory and tools needed for technical equipment.

Requirements

  • Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check.
  • Basic knowledge of network topology and troubleshooting PC issues.
  • Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Experience with Windows and Point of Sale systems preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Restaurant experience is a plus but not required.
  • Experience in a technical support role is preferred.
