About the position

The IT Support Technician at Service Wire Company is responsible for providing technical support to the Houston facilities, ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems and assisting users with their technology needs. This role involves troubleshooting IT issues, managing inventory, and educating staff on cybersecurity policies, all while maintaining a high level of customer service and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware, and computer accessories.
  • Resolves internal user issues and ensures correct operation of computers.
  • Educates on cybersecurity policies and best practices and serves as a source of information on IT policies and procedures.
  • Maintains parts inventory and logs all service/repair activity.
  • Performs system setups for new hires and issues any additional assets needed in role changes.
  • Ensures effectiveness of systems throughout the facilities.
  • Provides assistance and training to all members in the use of the computer network and other interfaces.
  • Assists with the management of communications and information hardware and software, with primary responsibility for alarm systems, telephone, and computer systems.
  • Works within the ticketing system to create detailed work logs and technical documentation.
  • Coordinates with corporate support to escalate issues as needed and ensures customer expectations are set with timelines for resolutions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity or other relevant fields strongly preferred.
  • Related industrial IT experience or training a plus but not required.
  • Strong verbal/written communication and phone skills.
  • Ability to operate Microsoft Office products and related computer applications.
  • Organizational skills and time management experience juggling multiple competing priorities.
  • Experience troubleshooting a variety of desktop issues.
