About the position

The IT Support Technician position is a 6-month contract-to-hire role based in Kansas City, MO. The technician will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of IP video and access control systems. This role requires a professional demeanor when interacting with both internal and external customers, as well as the ability to work independently without supervision. The technician will maintain accurate records of all work performed, including materials used and any issues encountered. The majority of the work will be conducted on-site in the Kansas City area, and the technician must be able to lift tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and pull wire as necessary. The position operates on a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with the expectation of overtime and participation in an on-call schedule as required. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have a clean driver's license and safe driving record. Compensation for this role is based on skills and experience, with a pay range of $28 to $35 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Install IP video and access control systems.
  • Provide full service troubleshooting and repair of systems in an efficient and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed, materials used, and problems encountered with the system.
  • Lead projects and create scope of work as needed.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, specifications, and operation manuals.
  • Work independently without supervision and maintain a clean, professional image.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of IP video and access control installation experience.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of IP cameras such as Axis and Avigilon.
  • Experience installing access control systems.
  • Ability to lift tools and equipment up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and pull wire.
  • Professional manner with external and internal customers.
  • Ability to work overtime as required and participate in on-call schedule.
  • Possess and maintain a clean driver's license and safe driving record.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
