About the position

The Town of Eastham is seeking qualified candidates for the full-time position of IT Support Technician. This role is crucial in ensuring the proper operation of computers, printers, and network systems, enabling end users to accomplish their business tasks effectively. The IT Support Technician will be responsible for receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end user help requests. In cases where issues cannot be resolved at the technician level, the individual will escalate incidents to the appropriate technical support personnel. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to providing excellent customer service to all end users. The IT Support Technician will work a standard 35-hour week and will be expected to maintain a high level of technical knowledge and skills. The role involves not only technical support but also a degree of interaction with various departments within the local government, making communication and interpersonal skills essential. The technician will also be involved in maintaining network documentation and understanding network topology, which is vital for effective troubleshooting and support. Additionally, experience with public safety network operations and security environments is desirable, as it will enhance the technician's ability to support critical systems used by the town. Candidates should possess a strong foundation in computer science or information technology, with a minimum of an Associate's Degree in a related field. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience working with computers and familiarity with Microsoft's Office365 software services. Experience in local, regional, or state government settings is a plus, as is knowledge of virtualization and operating systems. The salary for this position ranges from $45,206 to $56,456, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
