About the position

AristaCare IT is looking for an IT Support Technician to provide technical support and maintenance for computer systems, desktops, and peripherals at their Cranford, NJ location. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading hardware and software while ensuring optimal performance for end users. The technician will serve as a primary contact for user support, both remotely and on-site, and will assist with inventory management and basic network support tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for desktops, thin clients, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
• Diagnose and repair hardware and software issues for end users.
• Maintain inventory and store spare parts for IT equipment.
• Assist with patch cabling and basic network equipment testing.
• Configure workstations for new users and upgrade existing equipment and software.
• Administer user accounts in software solutions and liaise with third-party support when necessary.
• Document IT processes and maintain organization within the IT office.
• Collaborate with team members on projects and contribute to team goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 3 years of experience in IT support, specifically with Windows environments.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues on desktop and laptop computers.
• Working knowledge of computer networking and hardware configurations.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with users.

Nice-to-haves

• CompTIA and other IT certifications.
• Experience with Apple and Chromebook devices.
• Ability to work on a ladder for short periods.
